D’Eon continues to search for the villains known as the Poets who use their Psalms to do monstrous evil. When a friend ascends to a Poet, D’Eon might hesitate in the stroke of his sword, but being a medium for the vengeful spirit of his murdered sister Lia, it is no longer within D’Eon’s control where his sword will fall.

The captivating journey of revenge, murder and a revolution continues in the latest volume of Le Chevalier D’Eon. When a new enemy sets foot in Paris, D’Eon and Lia will be one step closer to the truth behind her murder and the true goal of the Poets. That is, if they survive their encounter with Armande. He is the highest ascended Poet yet and his monstrous transformation leaves a lot of unsettling questions for both Lia and D’Eon. What is this Tower of Victory that the Poets yearn to achieve? And what is so important about Lia’s part and her birth that makes her essential to it?

The story guards many of its secrets jealously. It teases with the horrifying truths lurking in the dark. Even Robin, Lia and D’Eon’s trusted servant, hides disconcerting secrets. Secrets like what his real name is and who he truly is.  A new ally also joins them, the strange yet powerful Alembert. But in this time of chaos and political upheaval with factions vying for power in hidden corners, can D’Eon and Lia afford to trust anyone?

With the anime series of Le Chevalier already past the halfway mark, people might think they know the story of D’Eon already. They’d be wrong. The manga is strikingly different from the anime series and grows more so with each volume. Robin’s history, the character of Alembert, even the personalities of Lia and D’Eon are markedly different from the anime. It makes for a fresh take on the story, one that is as engrossing as it can be disturbing considering it is filled with murder and villainy.

Manga extras include translation and cultural notes as well as a preview to the next volume in Japanese.
