The dark priestess Tsubaki makes a desperate attempt to destroy Inuyasha once and for all! An ogre sealed away in a tower may be her key to doom Inuyasha and his friends, but things have unexpected results and the final outcome will bring a violent climax in the saga of the dark priestess!

The latest volume of the ani-manga sees the story of Tsubaki come to a climatic finale. Her efforts to annihilate Inuyasha and gain control over the Shikon Jewel are frustrated by Naraku’s interference and the heroism of Inuyasha and his friends.  In the end she makes a last ditch and monstrous effort to destroy her enemies, but betrayal turns the tide against her.  This is hardly the end of perils for our heroes. A time to rest and recuperate in a peaceful village becomes a strange series of possessions and Myoga caught up in a forced marriage. It’s danger mixed with comedic fun when Myoga the flea may be forced to tie the knot!

This volume arcs from high drama, to a more comedic adventure, to then have the drama rise again as the last story focuses on Kagura. The wind sorceress notices Naraku’s weakening barrier and wonders if this might be her chance to strike out and gain her freedom. She’ll need help to do so, but whom will she turn to? As she plots and considers all the angles, Inuyasha and friends continue on their trek to stop Naraku.

Even if you’re familiar with the regular manga, the vivid colors in this book representation of the anime series brings vibrant life to the story on the page. The story shows solid dramatic writing and character development involving Tsubaki’s tragic fate and Kagura’s circumstances and motivation.

IN SUMMARY:
The latest ani-manga volume of Inuyasha sees the finale to the Dark Priestess arc, a possible hole in Naraku’s defenses, and a flea with a very big problem. It’s a lush fairytale epic brought to vivid life in this full color manga of the hit anime series.
