A homesick sister, the threat of a teacher home visit, and a date with a vampire hunter are just a few of the latest challenges facing vampire girl Karin in the latest fun episode of this supernatural romantic comedy.

The second volume of the anime is packed with comedy and intrigue. It starts of with a melancholic tone when we are given a deeper understanding of Anju and the devotion she holds for her older and less vampiric sister Karin. The show dives into the comedy when Karin’s low test score has her desperately studying in order to pass her makeup test or else a teacher will visit her home and then discover her family is a family of vampires! Kenta helps her cram but all this time with a human boy has her papa’s ire raised. His bumbling efforts to spy and protect his daughter cause a funny rift between the two, one that is quickly mended.  Then to put off the absurdly outrageous vampire hunter Winner once and for all, Karin agrees to go out on a date with him. But her best friend’s plot quickly goes awry when a solar eclipse reawakens buried memories in both Winner and Karin. Could they have met years ago? Could she be the girl who changed his life forever? And what of Maki? It seems she has a torch burning for the stumbling vampire hunter. Can he ever see past his obsession with Karin to look at what’s right in front of him?

It’s the final episode on this disc that will really get your blood going. Karin’s bad boy brother Ren decides to do a little interfering. He disapproves of her falling for a human so he decides to go after Kenta’s mother! Drawn by the blood of stressed women, down on her luck mom is the prefect target to catch Ren’s eye. As Karin tries to stop him, she is torn between her loyalty to her brother, her feelings for Kenta, and her own vampire nature. Ren’s plan may have worked out too well when her vampire nature takes over and she ends up pinning Kenta, fangs bared! It’s a cliffhanger with bite!
