After the Derek's mother has listened at the door while the king and Prince Nicole have discussed Jed, and she has learned Prince Derek is not his true son, her anger is roused as she plots her revenge on her father, for the secret the king has kept all these years, telling Derek what he has said about them.

The king tells Nicole that he must bring Jed to the castle without alerting anyone else as to his arrival and he will sort it out with him, but as soon as Prince Nicole leaves to do just that, Prince Derek seizes the young male at knifepoint, intent on using him to bait Jed to come to his death.

Gagged and panicking, Nicole is led away and taunted by Derek who has his own ideas of getting his revenge on his father for what he has done keeping the secret for so long.

Prince Jed learns of what is happening, and is amazed his brother Derek is behind the upheaval in their kingdom, as treason is about to begin. He knows Derek will kill him and his own father and blame him for his cruelty, so he has the opportunity to act or die trying. Also it would be his last chance to see Prince Nicole in a state where he would be alive rather than tortured at his brother's hands, or perhaps much worse.

As a battle rages outside Nicole tells Jed that he had been used as a pawn to bring him there. He tries to lunge out of his binds, and instead has to watch as Jed is ready to fight his brother to stop him from destroying all their kingdom has. Derek fires his arrows at his brother, fierce at heart, while Jed dodges them, and looks to lose when Nicole takes up his sword and using the skills he has, fights to protect him as he realises how much he truly loves him as his husband, even though it was originally an agreement without any emotional conditions.

The artwork has the usual excellent amount of detail, precision and perspective that gives it the dramatic look it has had throughout the volumes. The art looks original, and the backgrounds are faded sometimes which gives the manga a wonderful depth.

As far as story is concerned, there is the right amount of intrigue, double-crossing, murder plots and twists in the tale in this manga to satisfy those who enjoy this kind of manwha.

IN SUMMARY:
A gripping, intense thriller of two handsome men embroiled in medieval political intrigue, and a love that blossoms against the odds stacked against them even when it could mean their death.
