Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Party at Planet Zero Anime Center
Sunday, 28 January 2007
What happens when the latest Japanese video arcade craze makes it here to the United States, specifically in Houston, Texas? You get one big heck of a party!
Planet Zero Anime Center was the place of the big event on January 6, 2006 as Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Arcade game made its debut in the United States. The sprite-based fighting game is available only to its North American fans via video game consoles and handheld platforms. But for the first time, Planet Zero Anime Center, which specializes in bringing the latest and hottest video arcade machines from Japan, didn't waste time in bringing the Japanese arcade hit soon after its release in Japan (December 20, 2006) -making it available to eager fans in the Houston area in less than a month.

The event started at 9 PM that evening, but fans were flocking way before the scheduled time just to be the first ones to have their hands on the arcade game and to compete with their friends. Gamers were lining up and patiently waiting for their turns as they watched the two competitors play against each other on an overhead projector, and some showed up wearing their favorite Guilty Gear characters cosplay uniforms in support of the event.

With the introduction of the video game, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core became one of the video arcade games that fans will challenge the best in Japan in Showdown Championship 2007 competition at the Anime Matsuri Convention in April. Other games announced that evening that will be part of the competition are Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Streetfighter 3: Third Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Arcana Hearts, Melty Blood Version B, and Super Streetfighter 2 Turbo; all which you can play at Planet Zero Anime Center.

Fans were ecstatic with the event as they were the first ones to see and play the latest Guilty Gear arcade. However, the fans have something more to be excited about, as two more arcade parties are on the horizon in February at Planet Zero Anime Center.
