A showdown with the best sprinter in Japan and a sudden romance makes this third volume of Suzuka over the half-way point of the series.

Running into the number one high school sprinter in Japan, Yamato meets his opponent even before the competition starts thanks in part to Asahina who starts a commotion. But the fuss and competiveness bring the two back together …somewhat.

On the sidelines, Honoka, who has been eyeing Yamato for some time, finally makes her move. She conveys her feelings to an unsuspecting Asahina, and asks permission if she can tell Yamato about how she feel, but the conversation ended abruptly when Yamato suddenly appears. Then, during an inter-high school competition in Yamato's home town of Hiroshima, where Asahina won third place in her event, Honoka's lips and feelings finally reach Yamato and the two suddenly become a couple. The news affects Asahina, but she gives her support to Yamato.

However, Yamato and Asahina end up being together alone in Hiroshima as they both miss their train to Tokyo, which puts Honoka in a panic as she wonders why her boyfriend is once again with Asahina.

In the third volume of this stormy romance, the story shifts to a third-person perspective with a twist. Now the relationship of Yamato and Asahina is shown through Honoka's perspective, as she alone knows that no matter how turbulent of a relationship Yamato and Asahina have, she can see that Asahina really does like Yamato. However, her aspiration is to be with Yamato, and being in a relationship with him puts a whole new twist in the series - a twist that could give meaning to future episodes.

About the sudden romance, it is not a far-fetched scene that one person's mind and feelings could suddenly be swayed by an unexpected event. In this case, Honoka's persistence, combined with Suzuka moving into the right direction of her life and the lack of confidence and feeling of confusion on Yamato's part, lands Honoka with Yamato.

EXTRAS:
More screen shot images from the Aoba High School Yearbook, and the usual Textless Songs and FUNimation trailers.

IN SUMMARY:
A sincere and heartfelt series. The unrequited love turns into something earnest, but not to whom you would expect it to be with, as the series adds a twist with reality.
