Magically summoned by human boy Adell, the only daughter of the Overlord Zenon, Rozalin, has to follow him around to give him a hand in finding a way to break the curse. This isn’t just any curse. It seems a big bad demon overlord turned Adell’s entire village into demons! And guess which nasty overlord did that. You betcha, it was Rozalin’s big daddy who put the whammy on the town. Now Adell is out to make sure Zenon kicks the can in order to return his family to normal, and Rozalin has to help him do it. Well, that is if she doesn’t figure out a way to kill him first. Or is that kiss him? Confused? You bet! Welcome to the wacky world of hellacious fun that is Disgaea!
Things are getting mighty confusing for sweet looking and evil sexy Rozalin. She keeps thinking sweet thoughts on the guy who’s out to do in her dad. With all the enemies high and low against them, will she take the many perils as an opportunity to kiss the boy – or kill his human ass? Don’t think it’s even that clean cut. There’s still crazy boy Axel, the self-proclaimed Dark Hero who is as useless as he is funny. Every time he hits the scene proclaiming how he will save princess Rozalin from her slavery to that lowly human dude, it’s always a laugh. Plus there’s Zenon plotting in the background. And hey, just who is that chick with the red hair and skimpy top who’s chucking sharp objects at every one? If you’re a fan of Disgaea, you’ll recognize this not-so-new troublemaker who comes onto the scene and steals it away! This manga treat is based off of the popular video games, and there’s also the hilarious anime series. Fans of the first Disgaea who took a shine to evil ‘dood’ Laharl, crazy love-psycho Flonne, and the conniving Etna, don’t be hatin’! They show up here too. In fact there’s a bonus story that deals with Laharl and what happens when the young overlord busts his PSP. Its fun, fun, fun until your daddy takes your manga away! Not only is the art work easy on the eyes, the book has all sorts of extras like a sweet full color cover page and hilarious netherworld news broadcast. There’s also tons of character notes, translation notes, and a preview of volume 3 delivered by the Dark Hero Axel. IN SUMMARY: Disgaea 2 is just as much fun as the first series and then some. It’s a hell of a laugh ride in this crazy Netherworld of comedy. |
