College student Natori has had it with date parties, but his friend Takeda brow beats him into going. There he meets friendly guy Kisugi who is gregarious but not into the scene either. The two guys immediately hit it off. But when Natori finds out his new best pal is bi, it makes him do a double take. Still, he really likes Kisugi so he keeps hanging out with the laid back new friend. Feelings change for Natori but the unknowing Kisugi has a long time lover, Tooru, who doesn’t seem so good for him. Can Natori face his feelings and still win the guy he loves?
Sweetly romantic, this passionate drama has some mild angst, some comedy, and a lot of quiet romance that slowly blooms against adversity. It also has the main character awakening to his sexuality, coming out, and first love, all which is poignantly done. There is also a bit of a triangle on top of the one between Natori – Kisugi – Tooru. Natori’s longtime childhood friend Yasuna has stood by Natori supporting him, not knowing he prefers boys to girls, girls like her. She has long held silent on her feelings for the oblivious Natori, but when she sees that he’s pining for a guy and one who is taken at that, she just might change her mind on staying silent. This yaoi manga from the author and artist who did Lover’s Flat, Ordinary Crush, and the new Sunflower series, displays a nice art style, both appealing and fun. The story itself holds a charming quality with some down to earth comedic moments mixed in with the romantic drama.
