Overlooking a vast vista, Saiga discusses Kagura with his friend, and he wonders how she could acquire such power being so young. While she plays in the field with butterflies and is oblivious to what the two of them speak of, they set about trying to protect her from outside sources, as she has no idea what is wrong with her body, and Saiga wants to help her get her body back to normal. His friend tells him he can help after examining the blood from her, thinking the tumor in the brain is less of a symptom of a curse than the cause of it.

Captain Ginza tells a rookie police officer about a load of politicians and celebrities who are found dead all over town, a fire and the sudden disappearance of Tetsumi Saiga while he was investigating a Top Secret club. Captain informs him that they all happened on the same night. She has a gut feeling they were all connected to the same incident.

Ginza goes to the local prison to check out the mysterious number 11. Letting him go free, she cuffs him to her and they get to Suitengu's office only to find burly friends lined up protecting Suitengu, the awfully wealthy underground pleasure organise, but Captain Ginza fails to get any information from him about Saiga and later takes out her wrath on the guy when they get out of the building. She realises she is angry that Saiga left with another woman, feeling she is in love with him.

Shinsen, Suitengu's wife keeps the female President behind the doors of a cage and she is in need of medical treatment. She does not believe she is the real Shinsen and argues with her until she presents her with a photograph of her as a child.

In the meantime, Saiga and Kagura ask at a hotel about the girl in the photograph. The lady recognises her as the young Shinsen Tennosu. She concludes that the girl with Saiga must be the daughter of Shinsen. Saiga enquires about the photograph and she tells him the story that Shinsen used to come to the spa about fifteen years ago and she came with the intention of another male meeting up with her there later, but he never arrived. So she returned to Tokyo alone. She further tells them the male did turn up, but later he left the photograph, the one her father had mailed to the daughter all those years ago, and wondered why he did not also mail a large envelope along with it. She brings it out and tells the daughter what it contains. Handing Saiga a small, black notebook with the words Laboratory 152 on the cover, the Kagura asks what ever happened to the mystery male her mother was supposed tp meet in the spa. The lady says he was found dead at the bottom of a ravine a few days later.

The lady said it would be better if Miss Tennozu did not know about the mystery male, as she read in the papers she was about to be wed to a wealthy businessman and thought it would do no good to tell him about the man's death. Saiga asks about the name of the male who signed in the register that day and find out he is Kazuki Odawara, and Saiga discovers he was a Physician of genetics.

Suitengu tells Shinsen that he is going after Kagura himself to bring her back, and once he does he will re-open the club and everything will be back to normal. Suitengu shows his perseverance and more insane side of his personality as he goes to pursue Kagura. There are no drawbacks to the action, the story or the animation, as all are well created.

The story is full of intrigue about past and present, hunter and hunted, the love of a former war photographer and a Tokyo gun-toting female officer and a girl referred to as the Goddess are all part of an interesting and full tale which keeps the interest prolonged.

EXTRAS:
A character cast audition, an Art Gallery that has many still scenes captured from the third volume, text less opening and closing animations as well as trailers.

IN SUMMARY:
Speed Grapher Volume 3 is as explosive and enthralling an anime as you will ever watch!
