Tachibana and the aloof Otani have been friends since high school. Since then, they’ve been living together as lovers. But they’re relationship is in the closet, as are they. It’s so extreme that they have never told each other their true feelings for each other. When they run into Yuki, their pretty friend from high school, old jealousies are ignited. With their hidden emotions, will this honest woman be the catalyst for them to express what they’ve longed to say? Or will it be the breaking point for their life together?

This is a yaoi tale about love, not unrequited, but undeclared.  It’s a romance with misunderstandings, sometimes comedic, other times angst ridden due to the rampant river of emotions running just below the surface in these two young men. Old high school jealousies aren’t their only obstacle to love with each other. Money problems arise between these exceptionally close roommates. When relaxed Tachibana jokingly suggests moving out, Otani takes it the wrong way and considers breaking up! Now the couple might break up even though they’ve never verbally confirmed either their feelings or their relationship. One chapter sees their relationship through Yuki’s eyes. Her viewpoint gives an added bittersweet flavor to the story.

It’s a somewhat unconventional yaoi story as it isn’t the usual first time tale. The couple has been together a long time when the story opens. Plus the manga has three bonus stories. First, a boy and girl grew up together and are best friends. Trying times ensue when he tells his long time friend that not only is he gay, he’s in love with her ex-boyfriend. Will she help him get the guy he wants?

The second story involves a bizarre kidnapping. A socially awkward rich boy kidnaps the friendly classmate who spared him a kind word. With the abduction, a very abnormal start to a touching friendship may lead to something more. Unusual, it has a poignant tone. In contrast, the final story is a straightforward and sweetly romantic tale about long distance lovers separated by the ocean. East meets West in this tale of a Japanese and American couple.

Extras in this book include a “Manga Diary to Kill Time”.

IN SUMMARY:
Overall the stories in this manga have a sweet and romantic undertone. The art is decent and the book contains nothing too explicit in detail, it’s more so in inference.
