Dark – haired young Skuld becomes ever more jealous of Keiichi's advances toward Belldandy and sets upon building a robot guardian to protect her from him. In a short amount of time Skuld has built and activated her Multi – Functional Big Sister Helper robot and in doing so knocks the power off the Keiichi's computer, as his fifteen hours of painstaking paperwork is wiped and Urd's TV is rendered blank much to her chagrin. The robot looks a lot like a rendition of lord Raiden the thunder god, though he is more appealing to young children, and Skuld tells Keiichi and Urd that the robot is there to ward off demons, calling him Banpei RX.

Marller the demon hovers in the clouds looking over the Morisato household, rummaging in her lap through potion bottles, she wishes to use one on Keiichi as she wants him to be repellant to Belldandy. The robot thwarts her evil plans using powerful reverberating soundwaves to send her away.

Soon enough, the four of them have problems with Banpai being activated, so Skuld sets to work modifying her robot so he cannot interfere with their leisure time. Banpai though has reprogrammed himself to attack Keiichi when he gets amazingly close to Belldandy. Urd comes to see that Banpai has fallen in love with Belldandy. The others think it is absurd, but as time goes on it is the truth.

Marller incensed comes back for a second fight, plotting to poison Keiichi when she runs into Banpai accidentally. Skuld and him do their best to ward off and protect Belldandy, and Banpai destroys Marller, but as he does that, also ends his own robot existence. Burning with revenge and hatred, Marller is resurrected to exact as much damage on the rival goddesses as she can, hating that they have increased their numbers to three and make them look a laughing stock.

Marller thinks she can use her power as a top ranking demon to kill them, but when she homes in on their abode, a newly repaired Banpai who fires another series of demon banishing cards toward her away corners her. She resurrects herself again; feelings of intense jealousy and animosity arise and are pointed at Keiichi for his having so much joy living with Belldandy, Urd and Skuld. Her goal is to curse him and make him the most miserable male ever, and she intends to do this in the most cruel way.

Magumi, Keiichi's sister has been entertained at the Morisato home and is on her way home when she is stopped by Marller who tells her she wants her body for her own uses. While inhabiting Magumi's form, Marller does unspeakable things. She decides to use one of her spell potions to unleash a powerful demon to sort out Keiichi once and for all.

The comedy in this is exceptional. Skuld's building of Banpai and his disrupting the order of the home is hugely amusing, while some of the main laughs are at Marller's attempts to resurrect herself only to come to a sticky end each time at the hands of Banpai. The series although it has been around for nearly twenty years in different forms as both manga and anime, has always kept its appeal.

Belldandy and company are strong characters who have stood the test of time. The story, though it is considered a romantic comedy has other elements of humour, cuteness and character development urging the viewers to keep up to date with the latest episodes.

EXTRAS:
Textless closing animations and screen shot Gallery of stills from the episodes are a comical and lovely addition to the fourth series.

IN SUMMARY:
Ah! My Goddess keeps the tried and tested formula going in this impressive fourth volume.
