Hilarious and steamy, Love is a Hurricane is a guilty pleasure for yaoi fans. Unlike the first volume, this second manga focuses more on one couple, that of student council high profile student Azuma and his dense and stubborn lover Mizuki. Has there ever been a more adorably thickheaded character than Mizuki? You’d think since they’re now a confirmed couple things would be smooth sailing but oh, no. Not for dense Mizuki. First he has a fever and Azuma has a wicked idea of how to “beat” it out of him. Then they struggle with jealousy when an old friend of Mizuki shows up and is persistently hanging around and off of him. Afterwards, when the two go on summer holiday together, a nervous Mizuki has a very big surprise in store for him.

This couple is too much fun. Between the comedy and the racy sex scenes it’s hard to choose which is to be preferred. Both are so enjoyable. Mizuki really is the stupidest guy in yaoi. He keeps having heart pangs when Azuma acts coldly towards him. Instead of thinking it’s heartache, he automatically assumes it might be a heart attack! This couple is a highly entertaining combination of twisted (Azuma) and sweet (the two of them being lovely together).

They aren’t the only couple though. The final chapters show readers what has transpired with the stepbrothers in love, Akira and Izumi. The more conservative Izumi keeps trying to study but has some very racy interruptions from his stepbrother. He gets Akira to make a deal but it turns against him when he misses his lover. The very last chapter sees the couple going on a double date with Azuma and Mizuki with hilarious results.

Manga extras include 4 full color pages of couples Akira and Izumi, and Azuma and Mizuki, and there is also a new 801-chan comic strip at the back of the book.
