Here it is: the grand finale! Endless Illusion may not be so endless if the Claw gets his way. It’s the end of dreams, the end of the line, and the end of the road for many in the kick ass final volume of Gun Sword!

Three last episodes, a lot of last gasps, and a whole lot of bullets flying and people dyin’ in the killer conclusion to this wicked sci-fi anime. As slick as Cowboy Bebop and almost as much fun as Samurai Champloo, Gun Sword has been a sweet ride. Claw is unleashing his maniacal plan to kill everyone on the planet for a better world (and people wonder if he’s crazy? Hello!). Van doesn’t care about saving the world though, oh no, he just wants his revenge on the Claw. But he’s not the only one. Ray wants a piece of old man Claw too. But first he has to go through psycho chick Fasalina. In fact, most of ep 24 is about Ray and his big battles and final fate. He has a touching brother moment with wimpy Joshua. Then it’s up against the Claw.

In episode 25 things go sexy and deadly. It’s Fasalina still alive and dukeing it out with none other than sex bomb Carmen99! Booya baby! And things get seriously insane when sweet lil Wendy goes to take out…her brother Michael?! And Joshua is fighting Van?! Edge of your seat stuff. And it’s not even the final episode yet!

Ahh, the last episode. So bittersweet. So action packed! Finally it’s what we’ve been waiting for – The Claw and Van alone at last. You know this is going to be a fight where only one might walk away from, if that. (Anyone else have Mad Max III going on in their head? “Thunderdome. Two men enter. One man leaves.”) It’s all about who lives, who dies, and if it really is the end of the world. The show finishes on the perfect quirky note. Very in tune with the off-beat humor of the series. My only complaint is not enough of Carmen99!

EXTRAS:
Extras in this anime are the clean openings, art gallery, Geneon previews, a reversible cover, a fold out insert, the final episode of the crazy parody Gun X Sword-San, and get this, in the extras there’s an authentic true as life wedding proposal by voice actor David Vincent (Van) to his one and only girl. Awwww!

IN SUMMARY:
The final volume of Gun Sword does not let down or ease up!
