The final matches in the high jump competition arrive, but have Sano and his brother mended their fences? That’s not the only excitement happening. Nakatsu has a surprise visit from his mother, Mizuki has to decide about her future, Nakatsu is forced to make a fateful decision, and Mizuki and Sano spend the night together in the same bed! It’s more romantic tension in the latest volume of Hana-Kimi.
The big high jump match actually is shown very quickly, almost glossed over. The main point of the competition wasn’t so much the competition itself, as it was the relationship between Sano, his brother, and their father. With that all tidied up with a neat little bow, the manga moves on to briefly follow up with what happened to the beautiful model Alex. And this volume explores another student at the academy, quiet track runner Sekime. The bulk of the manga deals with Mizuki’s growing apprehension as graduation looms closer and closer. She knew her time with Sano would eventually come to an end, but now that the future is about to arrive, she has yet to decide what to do after high school. She doesn’t want to be away from her friends at the academy or the man she loves, Sano. However, they all know her as a boy and should they ever find out the truth, what will happen to those relationships Mizuki holds so dear? With only four more volumes to go, the series is building up the anticipation of the answer to that question and the biggest one of all: will Sano and Mizuki find their way together as a couple? IN SUMMARY: The latest volume of Hana-Kimi poses some hard questions about the future of Mizuki, Sano and Nakatsu. With graduation edging closer, will Mizuki confess her feelings and the truth to those she cares for? |
