All right, let’s get this party started …rock and roll! - Melissa Mao The second volume party starts with an action-filled mission with comedy and this time, there’s more of Kaname in the explosive series FULL METAL PANIC: THE SECOND RAID. Bent on getting the traitor that sold the crew of Tuatha de Danaan, Mao and Kurtz went on a mission in Italy to grab the traitor Vincent Bruno, who is taking refuge with the mafia. When the mission turns awry, Sousuke comes in as backup, but the situation takes a turn for the worst when Gates’ soldiers try to grab Vincent Bruno away from them. After finding out the name of the phantom enemy, Mithril decides to change the way their personnel resources are being handled. The higher brass decides that Sousuke should be perfecting his ability with the Aberlest rather than doing guard duty. But little do they know that their about to have two enemies rather than one, as Yu Lan and Yu Fang part with Gates and will soon bring their battle and revenge against Mithril. Meanwhile, the comedy starts once again when Sousuke returns to Jindai High, decides to get a hair cut from a beauty salon, and sparks fly. Just when things started to come back to normal, Sousuke receives an order that makes him furious as he must relinquish his watch to “Wraith”, but little do the top brass of Mithril know that Yu Lan and Yu Fang are bringing their battle ever closer to Kaname. The second volume of this high profile series continues to excite its viewers with its high yielding explosives and its romantic chemistry between Kaname and Sousuke. Both are starting to express more of their feelings to one another at the expense of sudden slapstick comedy, while Gates continues to give the series the intensity and darker tone with his machinations. The story also dwells on the future of Sousuke as it seems that the only life he really knows is the military life. As he continues to struggle and adapt to a normal life since his arrival in Japan, he must wrestle with this.
