Masa and Kai have confessed their feelings to each other. Kei has rediscovered his passion for kendo. And Ran, well, Ran never changes. He still is passionate about one thing and one thing only – his man, Kei. Their Kyoto honeymoon becomes a den of drama however when Kai’s temper boils over and he pushes Masa too far. Can the love birds help patch Masa and Kai up before Kai drives them crazy with all his pouting and raving? Who knew it could all lead to a kendo duel between Kei and Kai? Watch out Kizuna fans, things are about to get dicey!

This volume of the most popular yaoi manga series in the world sees Kai and Masa stumble as their relationship tries to go to the next level. There are some funny moments, but there is one particularly heart rending scene when the love play gets too rough and Kai is reminded of a horrible incident from his past. It forces him to face not only his past, but also his own mistakes and leads to a heartfelt confession by him to Kei. The reaction of Kei shows how truly compassionate and understanding a man he is.

The yo-yoing between Masa and Kai is a lot of soap opera fun. It blends into Kei’s attempt to get back into kendo when Kai challenges him to a match. It leads to some soul searching and a surprisingly insightful Ran coming through with some unusual forms of support. And of course, no Kizuna novel would be complete without some romantic and erotic love scenes, drawn with such care.

IN SUMMARY:
Romance, comedy, and melodrama, Kizuna serves it all up with lush story telling and beautiful art work.
