Active Anime interviews some of the cast of Hellsing Ultimate at Anime Expo. Patrick Seitz (Luke Valentine), Josh Philips (Jan Valentine), and Ralph Lister (Walter Dollneaz) participated in this short and full of laughs interview. This is a voice interview response only.

Please introduce yourselves and tell us who you play in the series and a little about each of you.

What were your initial impressions when you first watched the original TV series? Was there any difference in your reaction when you first watched Ultimate after having been a part of the earlier TV series?

So far, out of the two Ultimate episodes, in your opinion what was the grossest/ most graphically violent scene in the anime so far that stands out for each of you?

Was it hard to get back into your character after such a long time?

Any embarrassing moment?

Anything you want to say to the Hellsing fans and anime fans in general out there.

Hellsing Ultimate Volume 1 and 2 is now available on DVD from Geneon Entertainment

 PATRICK SEITZ

Patrick Seitz is a Los Angeles voiceover actor, script adapter and ADR director who has been fortunate enough to work on nearly 100 anime and video game titles during the last few years.

Usually called upon to portray the enigmatic, the ethically ambiguous, the anguished, and occasionally the downright evil, Patrick’s more prominent roles include Isshin Kurosaki in Bleach, George in Paradise Kiss, Hazel in Saiyuki Reload Gunlock, Dhaos in Tales of Phantasia, Raul in Ergo Proxy, Koshiro in Koi Kaze, Charles Beams in Eureka Seven, Lee Linho in ROD the TV, and Luke Valentine in Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate.

His voice also appears in Fate/Stay Night, Speed Grapher, GunXSword, Beck, Trinity Blood, Kamichu!, and Hare+Guu, to name a few.

On the video game side of the ledger, you can hear him in the likes of Dawn of Mana, Valkyrie Profile 2, Time Crisis 4, Ace Combat Zero and Romancing Saga.

In addition to the voiceover work, Patrick adapted and directed the English dubs of Girls Bravo, Kamichu!, and Tales of Phantasia, and adapted about two-thirds of The Melody of Oblivion.

Patrick has a BA in Creative Writing and an MFA in Creative Writing & Writing for the Performing Arts, both of which he received at the University of California, Riverside.  Before falling down the voiceover rabbit hole, he spent two very “Welcome Back, Kotter”esque years teaching English at his old high school.

Feel free to visit him at his own little carved out niche of e-hubris, www.patrickseitz.com.
