With NOA destroyed and Utsuho well on his way to realizing his plan to have Okikurumi purge the earth of all human life, Atsuma must decide what he will do. Now free of the Kamui that once possessed him, he is free to choose his own road. Strengthened by his own determination, he chooses to return to NOA, the first place to awaken his heart, in order to try to find a way to save his friends. Yet while this happens, the Kamui Kojomaru is having an increasingly difficult time and strange feelings that it doesn’t understand while in possession of Sumire’s body. Surprising reunions occur, battle lines are drawn and the awakening of Atsuma’s true abilities happen in the latest enthralling volume of Kamui!

There are shifts in several relationships that occur in this volume of one of the more dark and intense manga series to come out in some time. Atsuma’s fight to save those he holds dear seems to have awakened things within the people around him. What will come of their realizations remains to be seen, but the impact Atsuma’s choices have on himself are monumental. His true powers awaken and put him right in Utsuho’s line of fire. His elder brother’s devious plans now extend to him in the worst way as Utsuho manipulates those closest to Atsuma to hurt him. There are divisions made between Sumire and Shiki, the fate of Shui, Hyde’s surprising words, and Akai’s return. The most staggering revelation of all is not the strength and breadth of Atsuma’s powers, but their true price.

Extras in the manga include a full color cover page, terminology notes, translation notes, character notes, an English translated preview of the next volume, a recap of the manga series so far, and several comedic four-panel comic strips (Kamui Bonus Theater).

IN SUMMARY:
Each volume of Kamui builds to create an intense epic saga about the survival of humanity, the sacredness of life, and the strength within even the most battered of human hearts.
