With the first leap of Katsura and Sou’s relationship overcome, now Katsura must face a whole new set of challenges to learn his heart and become the archery vice-captain everyone wants. Although he has done much to try to overcome the anxiety attacks and low confidence that has plagued him after a traumatic childhood incident, Katsura finds his insecurities mounting with the latest set of events. First is his relationship with Sou. It seems to be going to the next level of intimacy but is Katsura ready to deal with it? Then, to make matters worse, he has a hard time at the training camp with the archery club members. His aim is off and his best friend seems to making a move on him. Worse yet, a new and aggressive member seems to be willing to interfere in Katsura’s life, but what is it that Matsunae hopes to gain?

A lot of drama and a great deal of romantic angst highlight this latest volume of Rin. The wonderful art and superb story telling in this manga series show a delicate heart striving to grow up and grow stronger as Katsura falls in love. The story is tender, the characters passionate and the art work is sublime. The metaphor of archery forms to that of life and love is poetic and displays a romantic idealism that is irresistibly appealing. It works wonderfully in this story. There is an ineffable quality to all of Satoru Kannagi’s characters that is involving and believable. The gentle subtlety and depth of expression in Yukine Honami’s lovely art style compliments the writing beautifully.

IN SUMMARY:
In this latest romantic volume, Katsura must face his fears and find his strength if he wants to let his heart loose to claim his love. Rin! holds a subtlety and emotional depth uncommon in yaoi. Beautiful to behold, a pleasure to read, it warms the heart.
