Telling about Naomi Misora and her experiences working with L in the cases and how she perceived the greatest detective alive at the time as a strangely eccentric type with a child's eye view of things in life and his unique way of solving murders. The novel tells the story of how L enlists the help of Naomi to help him solve the BB murders as they had gone on long enough, three people had already died and were no closer to finding out who the murderer was.
On a leave of absence from the FBI, the third victim has been found and L thinks there is more to the killings than the FBI can understand.
It is up to Naomi and L to use their combined intelligence to solve the mystery and save the people of Los Angeles from the murderer still at large. Death Note: Another Note takes the reader back to an earlier case L had been investigating. Those who worked with him knew he was not the kind of person to give up, and had solved many of the toughest cases around, yet in this one he needed help. This novel is an enthralling and captivating piece of work by Ishin Nishio aka Nisiosin, and translated by Andrew Cunningham, including interior art by well-known Death Note manga artist Takeshi Obata.
As it is a stand alone novel, fans of the series will enjoy this early investigation from L's files as much as the entire series. There is the original feel of the graphic novels in this and Nishio has obviously researched the style and feel of the series extensively.
IN SUMMARY: Another Note is an excellent continuation of the excellent Death Note thriller series. Readers are sure to want another one like this.
