Cafe owners’ daughter Mayu Kousaka has been interested in Amamiya, a fellow high school student two weeks before she confessed how she felt about him and got rejected. As she is new in school she wants to make a new school life for herself and forget about how badly he treat her, but as she is still infatuated with him, it is much harder for her than she thinks.

The next day at school is difficult enough for Mayu as she is positioned next to Amamiya for the entire lesson. At home she thinks about him and finds a drink full of rainbow colours on the table, and without a thought drinks it.

Little did she know she took down a special kind of drink, one that was meant for someone else - a drink fairy called Pucho! Pucho, angered at this tells her the rainbow-coloured drink was a concoction that could have made her human, and that her chance to have her dream made real has gone forever.

Mayu also has a problem, for when she drinks or eats certain foods she transforms - and needs pucho to follow her wherever she gods as she can control her shape with fairy magic.

This is an original manga slant on a classic tale - while Mayu's attention is focussed on her love interest Amamiya, Pucho decides to give her a hand with ensnaring him, but how with that transpire?

This is Ema Toyama's first ever manga novel, and she is relatively new to the manga genre. Judging by how she has drawn this first volume, the readers with be in for a special treat for the next novels, as Ema has successfully created fun, cute characters of Maya, Pucho and her other friends.

IN SUMMARY:
For a first novel, this is sweet, well drawn and such a fun read and a real treat too.
