Garcia remembers a past when his needs were catered to, where he lived in the lap of luxury with his family and all was well, then he wakes up to find he's dreaming and in a car along with Rock, and the others.
Taking in the nightlife, Rock tells Garcia he is too young to be exposed to the seedier side of this place, and commends him for being brave enough even though he is a hostage to them, he has enough conviction that he will be saved and he will be back with his family soon. Rock wonders how his family thought how he felt being where he is and if they would care enough to send someone after him.
Garcia says there is his maid, Roberta who is looking for him and will stop at nothing to get him, they find themselves in a bar and in her company fighting off a gang of hoodlums in front of their very eyes. Her handy work with a gun even astonishes the Black Lagoon.
After the shoot out, Garcia is recognised and he thinks he will be taken home to Venezuela until Revy decides to put a gun to Garcia's head, causing a stand-off that doesn't get Revy what she wants.
Revy has finally met her match in this volume with the maid, Roberta taking out everyone in sight who is presenting a threat to her getting to Garcia. Nothing works to the original plan though as Garcia decides to go with Rock and the others of Black Lagoon as he does not remember seeing Roberta like this, so dangerous and merciless in the face of all these men. This drama makes for excellent explosive action, and now that Dutch, Rock, Revy and the gang have to get to the port and the Lagoon, the heat is definately on for them.
Roberta provides a welcome hard-edged touch to the series when before it was only Revy who was the balsy one who rode roughshod over everyone else.
Code name Bloodhound, Roberta got that title due to her locking onto her target and never letting go.
Some well-needed back up is required for Black Lagoon, but what remains to be seen is whether they will turn up on time.
This happens to be one of the most action-packed volumes so far, complete with explosions, shoot-outs, and car chases.
There is barely room for anything else other than the plot.
