"That woman will be the death of me!" - Mr. Takayama of Masane.
Masane Amaha is being shown around Doji Industries, and Mr. Takayama shows screens with blue prints of the cloneblades, a breed of new warriors, all women who wear varying gauntlet designs of the Witchblade.
Masane negotiates a price with Mr. Takayama and he agrees to properly do business with her, but realises she is going to be paid as much as their top Lab Researcher which equals two million. Mr.Takayama attends a charity function aboard a flamboyant yacht, and meets with Mr. Furumizi discussing the Witchblade and wondering that the bracelet might fall into the wrong hands as he considers it Doji Industries property, but discovers only what he expected at the party. Masane has a tip off that an ex-con is on the move, and she transforms using the Witchblade gauntlet into her alter-ego, but finds someone other than the ex-con she has to battle with, and it almost costs her her life. This volume sees plenty of action, yet also Masane has the time to reflect on what the effect of possessing the Witchblade will do to her relationship with her daughter.
Now that she has become a worker for Doji Industries, Masane can at last have the money to provide for her and her daughter, and they now can afford the room they always wanted. Masane knows though that someone has seen her both as herself and under the influence of the Witchblade so she has to be doubly careful as he is pressing her for answers to why she changes and who she really is.
It is humorous to see the interaction between Rihoto and the freelance photographer Yuusuke Tozawa as he tries to find out more about her mother, and her realising this, but being polite at the same time. The viewer will think she knows more about his scheming ways than he gives her credit for. EXTRAS:
