"Do grown ups describe us as the youngsters, the hope, the future or the youth?"
Believing that the kids they know fall into two separate categories, Jinwon Hyun wakes from a dream in which he is the star along with another male in a pop band, and they are touring the world, in the admiring eyes of their many fans, which pay them lots of attention as they play to thousands. As he wakes from the dream, he vows that one day it will not be a dream, but a reality. Jinwon knows he has the skills to make it big in the music business, yet school remains a constant source of what he views as punishment as many of the teachers there do not tolerate slackness in any form. When he is late one day along with his classmate Hosoo, Jinwon is told off for being so late by their teacher, as it is the beginning of the semester and he is really mad at them, and they both end up feeling unhappy about their lot. Jinwon recalls the time when he discussed their future with Hosoo, and that they would leave having girlfriends out of it as they concentrated on becoming stars in the music business, feeling that having romantic attachments would spell disaster if they were to take themselves seriously. He also remembers how close they were as a couple, not thinking of themselves as a gay couple, but as very close friends, though as time went on, they discovered they were becoming an item much to the amazement of their classmates. They also think something strange is going on with them both as they constantly refuse the attentions of girls at the school, and their friends think they might well be an item. Jinwon do not realise it yet at this time, but they could make an interesting and long lasting couple should they decide to try it out. They take up a lot of time thinking about the other class friend’s possible prejudice of them being gay or bisexual as they have girlfriends. This manga does touch upon this idea and arranges it well with the whole plot line as it moves constantly onward. As they dream of making it big in the music industry, there are lots of opportunities for the boys to use their flare and fun loving charm to get what they want eventually, but as the reader will be only too aware, it is a long, hard struggle to the top in this particular manga. As far as the art is concerned, Yeri Na makes every effort to bring to life the script she has used for the story and creates a wonderful school drama of love and pain and longing that every reader will want to experience for themselves. IN SUMMARY: A graphically excellent first volume - jealousy and love combine two boys trying to make it big.
