Things are still difficult for the incredibly beautiful and kind prince. The student council president of the all boys’ school, Yuushi Kitou, continues to help those who lack confidence in themselves or who are in need of a compassionate and gentle hand. Whether it’s a girl from a neighboring school in need, or even a journalist out for payback, Yuushi always wins people over with his sad eyes, gentle nature, and kind wisdom.

In one case the introverted but terribly kind Haruna finds herself lost on the school grounds She’s a pretty girl with glasses who lacks confidence and harbors a love for Yuushi. They meet and Yuushi helps her to find confidence even if only in little steps, he makes an indelible impression on her innocent heart.

The big drama unfolds when the school journalist Hiro resents Yuushi over a misperceived abuse of Hiro’s artist friend Kei. He puts all the blame on Yuushi’s head and even Yuushi’s constant companion, the cold and reserved Akira, may not be enough to protect the president this time, especially when Akira gets kidnapped! The melodrama of Hiro’s anger and attempts at revenge make up the bulk of this volume and comes to a poignant resolution.

Another story arc involves Saiga, a Koto music enthusiast. He’s dark, a little short, kind, in a bit of his own world, and secretly wishing the beautiful long haired Takaya, admired by all, would notice him. But he deeply believes that will never happen. The story of Saiga and the stunningly beautiful Takaya is a great one but sadly one that isn’t resolved before the end of the volume. And considering this is the final volume of the series, it may never be resolved. One can only hope a sequel is in the works.

Although this isn’t a yaoi containing explicit scenes, it holds very warm-hearted passion between the various young men within its pages. The story has great character development, beautiful art work, and a wonderfully involving writing style that will engage the reader.

IN SUMMARY:
Invisible Boy ends with some poignant stories, but it would have been grander with more resolution of the varying couples presented in its beautifully illustrated pages.
