When ADV Films announced the acquisition of Gatchaman, it didn't take long for the series to be screened at the Alamo Drafthouse. While the theater shows ADV titles in San Antonio and Houston, Gatchaman is the only series that premiered at the Original Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, and making it the only ADV anime series to be screened at three different locations to this day.

Gatchaman was released at the Alamo Drafthouse on December 6, 2005 in Houston, February 22, 2006 in Austin, and August 21 & 22, 2006 at both the San Antonio and Houston locations.

The stories shown are a compilation of favorite episodes of ADR Director Charles Campbell, but with each screening, the director replaced and inserted his new favorite stories as he continued to work on the 105 episode series. The fans' reaction to the retro series is phenomenal, and the voice actors who worked in the series supported the screenings. It is one of the most successful anime series to be shown at the Alamo Drafthouse in both 2005 and 2006 - banner years for Gatchaman and for the cast and crew.

In addition, Active Anime is proud to attend the screening of this wonderful series. It is a very groovy experience!
